Lawmakers back resolution slamming Divine Strake

A resolution expressing the Legislature's concern and displeasure with the upcoming Divine Strake military test sailed through the House Thursday.

SCR5, sponsored by Sen. Gene Davis, D-Salt Lake, garnered 69 yes votes. Six representatives were absent.

It had already passed the Senate by a margin of 26-3.

The House sponsor for SCR5 is Rep. Lynn Hemingway, D-Salt Lake.

The resolution now goes to Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. for his signature.
