At least six Utah House members carry concealed weapons during the legislative session, according to Rep. Craig Frank, R-Pleasant Grove.

Frank, who posted pictures of the lawmakers' holstered handguns on his February 4 entry to his UndertheDome.org blog, wrote that "nearly 40 percent of the current legislature has taken a CWP (Concealed Weapons Permit) class."

He wrote that many of his colleagues have applied for concealed carry permits.

Frank told the Deseret Morning News that the six carrying guns on the hill are the only ones who have told him so.

"There's probably a couple more who are carrying, who aren't on the Web site," Frank said.

The blog doesn't name the packing lawmakers, however.

Comments left on his blog are gushingly positive.

"You got to tell us who these great citizens are!" wrote a poster identified only as Richard.

Another poster wrote, "This is one of the MANY reasons that I am proud to have you as my representative!"

Frank said that Monday's shooting at Trolley Square did nothing to reinforce or change his views about concealed weapons permits.
