Relief Society president to speak at devotional

PROVO — Bonnie D. Parkin , general president of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday in the Marriott Center at Brigham Young University.

Sister Parkin, a member of BYU's Board of Trustees, earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University. Before her call to the Relief Society general presidency in April 2002, she served as second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, and she has been a member of the Relief Society General Board, stake and ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president, among other callings.

She also served with her husband, James L. Parkin, during his assignment as president of the England London South Mission.
