Jenna Johnson

Spanish Fork Dons

Sport: Basketball

Class: Junior

Position: Guard

The numbers: Despite her team's difficult 3-15 season, Johnson has put up a stellar performance all season long, leading all of 5A in scoring with 20.94 points per game with a total of 377 points. She has poured in 38 3-pointers and has upped her scoring average to 22.5 during the region season with two games of 30 points or more (versus Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos) during that stretch. She is clearly the most unstoppable player in Region 4 as she takes her team on her shoulders every night. Other coaches in the league say she's the one player you need to defend every second she's on the court.

Sean Thornton

Provo Bulldogs

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

The numbers: With center Chris Collinsworth sidelined with an injury, the Bulldogs have needed someone to carry a bigger share of the scoring load. The need was even more critical considering Provo's 0-2 region start. Thornton has shown his leadership by more than tripling his scoring average the past few weeks. In Provo's first 11 games Thornton averaged 4.6 points per game and had a season-high of 11. Since Collinsworth initially suffered his eye injury the second week of the region slate, Thornton has averaged nearly 17 points the past five games — which includes a career-high 23 against Lehi. The Bulldogs have gone 4-1 during that stretch.
