BRADY WELLS, Orem: The Tigers swam to the 4A boys swim championship last weekend, and this senior led the way.
He won both individual events the 200-yard IM and 100 breast stroke and was part of two relay-winning teams.
In the 100 breast stroke, he became the first prep swimmer in 20 years to break 58 seconds and qualified automatically for All-American status.
Wells was named academic All-State, and coach Dan Miller said he'll likely be named academic All-American, too.
"He's brought it together," said Miller. "He's a great team captain. He's led these kids, so a lot of credit to him."
ALYSSA COLVIN, Roy: This senior helped the Roy Drill Team earn its first-ever 4A state title with hard work and a selfless attitude.
"Alyssa is simply a great dancer. Not only does she have natural talent, but she continues to work hard to make her talent even better," said Roy drill team coach Dallas Draper. "With her positive attitude she is also a big motivator for the team. She is extremely dedicated to the Roy High drill team."
