SARATOGA SPRINGS Two men were arrested Friday in a drug sting in Saratoga Springs.
Officers found 44 grams of methamphetamine, according to a police report.
A police informant arranged to purchase one pound of meth from the two men, who agreed to meet the informant at Smith's Food and Drug, 1320 Redwood Road, the report said. Police moved in as the two met with the informant. They then took them into custody.
Police searched the vehicle in which the men drove to the meeting and found two bags weighing 15 and 28 grams. Both contained a white crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, police said.
An AK-47 rifle loaded with live rounds was found in the trunk of the vehicle, police said.
One man was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of possession of methamphetamine in a jail, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The other man was also booked for investigation of possession of drug paraphernelia, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
