A new $10,000 scholarship for Hispanic/Latino marketing communication majors at the University of Utah was launched recently.
The Utah Opportunity Scholarship will be awarded based on academic excellence to an entering junior. The scholarship, funded by Hispanic Marketing and Consulting/La Agency, can be applied to a student's junior and senior years.
"Investing in these qualified students is an investment in our community's future," Gladys Gonzalez, president of HMC/La Agency, said in a statement.
A department of communications faculty committee will select a scholarship recipient each April. For more information visit www.hmc-ut.com.
