Julie Jensen, resident playwright at Salt Lake Acting Company, will be in Moscow, Idaho, for two weeks this month working on a workshop production of her newest play, "Billion Dollar Baby," a one-woman comedy that will feature Patty Duke. The play's central theme is "conspicuously consumptuous child-rearing."
The workshop production, open to the public, is a cooperative venture between the University of Idaho and Idaho Repertory Theatre. Performance dates are Thursday through Feb. 17.
Duke has won numerous awards for her work on stage, film and television, including both an Oscar and a Tony for her portrayal of Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker."
"Billion Dollar Baby" will be directed by Jere Hodgin, former artistic director of the Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, Va.
