MARILYNNE ROBINSON, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, for "Gilead" (2004), currently teaches at the renowned University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. She will present a lecture about her work Thursday, 7 p.m., Salt Lake City Main Library.

JAMES GALVIN, author of "The Meadow," a memoir, and several other books of fiction and poetry, will read from his work Thursday, 7 p.m., Vieve Gore Concert Hall of the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory, Westminster College, 1840 S. 1300 East.
