The price of gasoline in Utah is about 20 cents lower per gallon than at this time a year ago, the American Automobile Association reported Tuesday.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded at a self-serve pump is $1.12, AAA spokeswoman Rolayne Fairclough said. That statewide average is the same as it was last month. The AAA survey of gasoline retailers found that Ogden's average price is $1.09 a gallon. In Salt Lake City the average is $1.12 and in Provo it is $1.13.

Utah's prices are 5 cents higher than the national average of $1.07, according to the AAA.

Analysts say a worldwide overproduction of oil has kept crude oil prices low.

Gasoline prices also have dipped because demand is lower now than during the summer driving season.
