His delayed commercial air flight was diverted to Ogden for refueling because of fog in Salt Lake City, leaving him with a difficult decision as he tried to make it to EnergySolutions Arena for tipoff of Utah's game against Denver.

"I would have gotten off and taken a cab or something (from Ogden)," said Miles, who didn't actually make it until well into the second half. "But they (airline representatives) said if I got off the plane I couldn't get my bags that I checked =96 and they had all my clothes in there.

"I wouldn't be able to be dressed for the game (in accordance with NBA regulations for inactive players), and I didn't want to be fined."

MORE TRADE TALK: One other trade-talk tidbit, this one from the San Antonio Express-News: "The Jazz would listen if any team called to inquire about what it would take to get (shooting guard) Gordan Giricek. Giricek's inconsistent play has begun to grate on no-nonsense coach Jerry Sloan ... "

MILLSAP, ARCENEAUX CLAIMED: Only two players from the CBA's defunct Utah Eagles, who ceased operations earlier this month, were chosen in the league's dispersal draft — and both have tangential Jazz ties.

CBA All-Star John Millsap — older brother of Jazz rookie Paul Millsap — went to Butte (Mont.) after the Daredevils traded a second-round 2007 pick to Minot (N.D.) for the first dispersal selection.

Great Falls (Mont.) picked up ex-Weber State star Harold Arceneaux, who is averaging 19.8 points per game. Arceneaux spent part of one summer playing the Jazz's Rocky Mountain Revue team.

ALUMNI UPDATES: According to Eurobasket.com, ex-Jazz players Quincy Lewis and Curtis Borchardt are thriving in Spain.

Lewis, one of Utah's 1999 first-round draft picks, recently had a 30-point game for Etosa Alicante of the ACB league. Borchardt, also an NBA first-rounder, customarily posts double-doubles for ACB's CB Granada.

Ex-Jazz big man Mikki Moore, meanwhile, has started New Jersey's last 17 straight games and is averaging career-high numbers.
