WASATCH COUNTY A 25-year-old woman died and a 25-year-old man was injured Saturday when the snowmobile they were riding on hit a tree.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m. on the Daniel's Summit Loop near Strawberry Ridge, about eight miles from the Daniel's Summit Lodge.
According to Utah State Park Ranger Dawn Larsen, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center by a medical helicopter and underwent surgery, she said. He was listed in fair condition.
Both riders were wearing helmets. Investigators were unsure which person was driving the snowmobile.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of family members.
