A bill that would change Utah Valley State College's name to Utah Valley University will be reviewed by the Senate Education Standing Committee on Wednesday.
SB70 would make UVSC a university on July 1, 2008. Senate President John Valentine, R-Orem, is sponsoring the bill. Twenty-six legislators are co-sponsors.
The bill was formally introduced in the Senate on Thursday.
