The proposed repeal of a 2002 law is one of several measures dealing with illegal immigration that are pending this session.

• Rep. Glenn Donnelson, R-North Ogden, is sponsoring HB220, which would repeal driving privilege cards that allow undocumented immigrants to drive legally. And he's pushing HB105, which would require the state to enter into a homeland security agreement to give some law enforcement officers the ability to enforce certain immigration laws. Donnelson said Friday that he does not plan on pursuing HB230, which would require certain child-care providers to prove legal status to be certified.

• Rep. Karen Morgan, D-Cottonwood Heights, is sponsoring HB320 to require the Utah attorney general to seek federal compensation for the costs associated with illegal immigration. She's also the sponsor of HB131 to create a minimum $50,000 civil penalty for document fraud to unlawfully establish legal status.

• Rep. Stephen Sandstrom, R-Orem, is sponsoring HB137 to require companies that do business with the state to verify the legal status of their workers.
