Bingham, Roy win drill team titles

OREM — Roy won its first Drill Team state championship in 4A competition, while Bingham claimed its fourth straight 5A Title.

"Three years ago we were in very last place," said coach Dallas Draper. "Last year we didn't place in state, and this year we won ... It's just so magical."

Granger finished second in 4A, while Hillcrest was second in the 5A competition. The teams competed in three categories Friday at UVSC. The 1A/2A/3A Drill Team state championships are Saturday at UVSC. The Deseret Morning News will run extensive coverage, including photos, in Thursday's Outdoors Section.
