PROVO A Provo man was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail, accused of abusing a 5-month-old baby.
Police state in a report that the man had taken the baby to the hospital early Friday morning. A doctor called officers to investigate the possibility of abuse.
The child's collarbone was fractured, as were several ribs. She also had bruising on her left arm, shoulder and forearm, and face, head and feet, according to the police report.
The man, 22, who is the baby's father, later told officers that he had gotten so angry that he "grabbed the infant in anger and had squeezed the child," according to the report.
He also said he dropped her and caught her by one arm, causing her to hit her face on the floor and make her mouth bleed, according to the report.
The father was booked into jail for investigation of child abuse on $15,000 cash or bond.
