Respect immigration laws

The Deseret Morning News reported that Western Union filed suit so it could continue to profit from transferring funds involved in illegal immigration (Jan. 7). In the same paper the Deseret Morning News editorial argued that we should continue to reward criminal activity by giving in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. It even went so far as to brand those opposed to giving in-state tuition to those illegally in the country as racists.

The editorial calls for immigration reform but does not make any recommendations. How about a recommendation that we become a nation where politicians, businesses and academic leaders respect and uphold the law?
