City eases chopper ban in hopes of luring movie

Helicopters are not allowed to land in Alexandria, Va., but the town will make an exception for Harrison Ford.

The City Council, hoping the actor will film his latest movie here, voted 6-1 to ease a ban on non-emergency helicopter landings. "We wanted to be viewed by people in the film industry as particularly helpful," Mayor Kerry Donley said.The producers of "Random Hearts," a thriller directed by Sydney Pollack, have not yet made a commitment to film the movie in Virginia.
