KSL still No. 1 in ratings
2 of top 5 stations have format of talk, news, information
KSL radio (AM-1160/FM-102.7) went down almost a full percentage in the latest Arbitron ratings but still held onto the top spot for the fall book.
KSL had a 7.7 percent audience share for all ages, 12-plus, while sister station KSFI ("FM-100") increased almost a full point to maintain second place at 7.5 percent.
KUBL (FM-93.3) rose to its highest audience in more than a year with 6.1 percent share, to move into third ahead of KXRK ("X-96") at 5.7 percent.
One trend here is that the Salt Lake radio market now has two of the top five stations doing news/information/talk. That may be the most expensive format for a station to do, but it's paying off for KSL and KNRS.
Basically, KNRS-AM, KBER, KBEE and KKAT were among the stations going up, while KSOP-FM, KEGA, KODJ, KJMY and KDYL were in the downward group.
