OREM — A van stolen by three pregnant girls after they attacked their caretaker was found Tuesday in California. The girls remain missing, however.

American Fork police were told Tuesday that the van, a 2005 silver Dodge Caravan, had been found in Los Angeles County, said American Fork Police Sgt. Shauna Greening.

Police don't know exactly where the van was located and are waiting for more information from California officials, who are thoroughly searching the van, Greening said.

The van was in great condition. Any mechanical problems weren't readily apparent, Greening said.

The three girls, two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, have been on the run since they allegedly attacked their caretaker, Jana Moody, with a frying pan on Jan. 16 in a home Moody runs for pregnant teens.

Moody's New Hope Maternity Home in American Fork teaches teens about prenatal care, adoption and parenting skills.

The girls allegedly hit Moody over the head, then tied her up with an electrical cord and duct tape. The girls also allegedly attacked another teenager at the facility.
