Salt Lake County needs someone to run its open-space program.
Voters recently approved a $48 million property-tax increase to pay for open space, regional parks and trails. The open-space manager will oversee all master planning for open-space purchases.
Half of the $48 million will be used to buy land for future community and regional parks, with the other $24 million going toward the purchase of land for open space and natural habitat preservation, as well as community trails.
The successful applicant will have excellent administrative, communication and planning skills, as well as a degree in environmental studies, public policy, political science, business administration or equivalent experience.
The deadline for application is Jan. 29 by 5 p.m. Interested applicants can apply through the county's personnel office. Call 468-2351 or visit www.personnel.slco.org/cfml/job.cfm for more information.
