A detached two-car garage and a vehicle inside the garage were destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon, but firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to the home.
Salt Lake City Fire Assistant Battalion Chief Denny McKone estimated the damage at $60,000. A car parked outside the garage was also damaged, he said.
The fire, at 1304 W. 800 South, was reported at 4:24 p.m. Fire crews arrived at 4:27 p.m., and the fire was under control within 10 minutes, McKone said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
