BYU

SWIMMING: The BYU women's swim team defeated Colorado State 195-105 on Saturday, taking first in 15 of the 16 events.

SLCC

MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Colorado Northwestern Spartans did something Saturday night that they didn't do against the SLCC Bruins Friday night. They led the game. It was only by four and lasted a mere 31 seconds. Salt Lake then pulled away for an 89-45 victory.

Southern Utah

TRACK: SUU's indoor track and field team split their meets at Utah State and Northern Arizona. Headlining the Thunderbird success was freshman Jeff Alley, who took home his second individual title in as many weeks.

Utah

MEN'S TENNIS: The University of Utah defeated Utah State 5-2 in men's tennis action on Saturday. Utah swept the doubles event, winning all three matches. For the Utes, Wes Hancock, Othman Ouariti, Timmy Allin and Amit Maharaj won their singles matches. Utah State's Oscar Ericsson and Jonas Tyden each won their matches.

SWIMMING: The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team defeated New Mexico on Saturday. The Utes beat the Lobos 135-100, to improve to 5-0 in the conference and 7-0 overall.

SKIING: Utah enjoyed a strong finish for the second consecutive week at the MSU Invitational Saturday. The Utes finished third overall with 359.5 points, with the University of Colorado winning their second straight event in a landslide with 449.5 points. Snorri Einarrson finished second in the men's 20K and teammate Fabian Figi placed fifth. On the women's side, the trio of Sara Schweiger, Annelies Cook and Sarah MacCarthy led the way for the Utes.

Utah State

TRACK : Amber Peterson clocked the second-fastest time in school history in the 60-meter hurdles Saturday with a time of 8.68, to lead the Aggies in their only home meet of the indoor season.

Westminster

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Westminster College Women fell to 6th-ranked Montana-Western 65-50 Saturday night in Behken Field House. The loss dropped the Lady Griffins to 14-7 overall, 2-3 in the Frontier Conference.
