PRICE The Utah Department of Natural Resources plans to break ground for a new regional office building in Price Saturday at 9 a.m.
Construction of the 12,000-square-foot building is expected to be completed by October. Costing $2.5 million, the building is to house local offices of the divisions of Water Resources, Water Rights, Forestry, Fire and State Lands, and Oil, Gas and Mining, which currently have offices scattered in various parts of Carbon County.
"This building will be energy efficient. Several deep wells will be drilled near the building and the water will circulate through pumps providing heating in the winter and cooling in the summer," said Mike Styler, executive director of the department, in a press release e-mailed to the media.
This change is intended to reduce overhead costs and allow better communications and coordination.
