DELTA Millard County sheriff's deputies have arrested a 16-year-old boy accused of stabbing a classmate at a school for troubled teens.
Deputies responded to the White River Academy on Wednesday on a report of an assault and found the teen had gotten into an argument with a 17-year-old boy in the kitchen and stabbed him.
"He'd been disrespected by this 17-year-old," Millard County Sheriff's Lt. Roger Young said Thursday.
Police said the teens had been given knives to do some food preparation when the 16-year-old stabbed the other boy in the shoulder.
"It sunk in about 4 inches, and it was a 12-inch blade," Young said.
The victim was taken to Delta Community Hospital. The attacker was transported to the Slate Canyon Juvenile Detention Center in Provo where he was booked on investigation of aggravated assault.
