Tree pruning is hatchet job

I read your article "Pruning for asthetics and safety" and I was totally appalled. I am a landscaper in Beaver and have seen this "massacre" happen for far too long. I lived in Salt Lake for 40 years and I saw many trees butchered in my time. Utah Power and Trees Inc. do not have a clue what the word pruning means. It's a hatchet job with them.

For the state to spend $13 million per year to do this to our trees is a joke. The state needs to do its research and look into burying cables so we don't have this problem. Most of the trees that are being butchered are large trees on city property. These trees are planted between the sidewalk and the street. Not only is this poor planning affecting our trees but it is raising our sidewalks as well. How is the state going to address the sidewalk problem in the future?

Bury the cables, now!
