Bonneville International has named Andrew Bunker as director of Internet technology for the company.

In this new position, he will be organizing and heading up the company's Internet technology team and providing technical expertise and consulting to all Bonneville stations in its broadcast markets.

Bunker has previously worked two years leading Web operations for Bonneville's Salt Lake division (KSL radio and TV; KSFI, KRSP, KUTR and Bonneville Communications). He has also managed the KSL.com Web site. Bunker started at KSL in 1992.

Bonneville also has announced that Brian Hoopes will be joining its new media operations as Web/systems developer and will be reporting to Bunker.

Hoopes is a Web technologist for Bonneville and spent the last 18 months as a developer of the company's Washington, D.C., Web functions.

Bonneville, like the Deseret Morning News, is owned by Deseret Management Corp., a holding company for businesses affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In making the announcement, Bonneville vice president for new media Russell Banz said the appointments are part of the company's ongoing development of a commitment to its new media initiatives.

"Andrew and Brian bring with them an impressive skill set," Banz said, "that will help us as we further develop our new media capabilities. Their talents and creativity will be terrific assets in this rapidly growing part of our broadcasting business."
