The Utah Department of Public Safety's Division of Homeland Security will present portions of the 12-point program "Ready Your Business" at free workshops in January.
Points 4-6 will be presented from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 17 at Merit Medical, 1600 W. Merit Parkway, South Jordan.
The topics are "Internal/External Resources and Capabilities," "Vulnerability Assessments" and "Essential Business Functions." They will be presented by Ken Kraudy, Sandy City emergency management director, and facilitated by Renee Murphy, program manager at the Utah Division of Homeland Security.

Points 3-4 will be presented from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at the Historic County Courthouse, 51 S. University Ave., Room 211.
The topics are "Human Resources: Employee and Owner Communication" and "Workplace Evacuation Plan." Murphy will be the facilitator.

Those completing all 12 points by August will receive a Recognition of Readiness Award from the state. The 12 points do not need to be completed in any particular order.
