10 apply for vacancy on Orem City Council

OREM — Ten people applied by Tuesday's deadline for the vacant seat on the Orem City Council.

The candidates are Hal J. Allen, Margaret Black, David Y. Chao, Camille Harris, Carl Hernandez, Edward Lalone, Art Leifer, Trueman Pratt, Joseph Ruffalo and Derek J. Whetten.

On Monday at 6 p.m., the council will appoint one of them to fill the seat vacated by Stephen Sandstrom, who stepped down three weeks ago to assume the seat in the state Legislature he won in November.
