Rite Aid Corp. will launch a free healthy weight management program in all Rite Aid stores in January that includes a free healthy weight guide, the Rite Weigh Challenge weight loss program, a Rite Weigh planner and access to a special Web site with additional weight management tools.

At any Rite Aid store, or on its Web site, www.riteaid.com, customers can sign up for the Rite Weigh Challenge, a 10-week program that provides the tools and motivation needed to lose 10 percent of your body weight and make improvements in your health and wellness.

Rite Aid is conducting the program in partnership with Lindora, Inc., a long-established weight control program based in Southern California.

The 16-page comprehensive Healthy Weight Guide provides information on the growing obesity epidemic, helpful advice on weight management, a Body Mass Index calculator, information on healthy diet, weight loss success strategies, stress busters, information on the importance of exercise and an exercise routine to get started.

The planner, available at Rite Aid stores, accompanies the weight loss program and includes a step-by-step outline of the 10-week weight loss plan with diet and exercise goals, weekly charts to record success, sample menus and coupons on Rite Aid products. A similar version of the Rite Weigh Planner can be printed for tracking use from the Rite Aid Web site.

OnlineExclusive online weight loss tools are also available on the Rite Aid Web site including more menu plans, daily motivational e-mails and tips, and an online weight tracker. Upon program completion, participants are encouraged to submit their feedback and five lucky Rite Weight Challengers will win their choice of a $500 Rite Aid Gift Card, a $500 SpaFinder Gift Certificate or a one-year membership to Bally Total Fitness.
