Children at the Boys and Girls Club of Provo will be able to participate in more athletics next year, thanks to a Provo Boy Scout.
Bret Bahme, a Scout in Troop 744, helped gather two truck loads of used but still serviceable athletic equipment that was delivered to the club headquarters Dec. 20.
The equipment-collecting helped complete Bahme's Eagle Scout Leadership Service project.
With some help from the foundation's Provo Attic Project an effort that encourages residents to donated old sports equipment or musical instruments that are just gathering dust in attics or basements Bahme collected, sorted, cleaned and inventoried all of the equipment.
With help from the United Way of Utah County, Bahme determined the Boys and Girls Club was an appropriate channel for the equipment.
Bahme is the son of Diane and John Bahme, Provo.
