As the year draws to a close, I'd like to send our heartfelt thanks to all the local businesses in our community who have opened their doors to the volunteers who raise puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Your generous spirit has helped our puppies become good canine citizens and has helped ready them for their very important future role.
I'd also like to urge readers who may know someone who could benefit from the free services provided by Guide Dogs for the Blind or who would like to raise a puppy to check out www.guidedogs.com or call 800-295-4050.
We are fond of saying "It takes a puppy to raise a community." This project connects us all and brings out the best in everyone.
