Hale Theater brings back 'Man With Pointed Toes'
Audiences seemed to love it right up until the management of Universal Studios bought the movie rights and made it unavailable.
Thus, it disappeared for several years, but it's back and rightly so, said Cody Swenson, one of the owners of the local Hale Center Theater and one of the actors who plays Tom Coterel.
In the play, Coterel strikes oil after he wins big at a poker game and becomes exceedingly rich as well as desperately in love with a woman he feels is too classy for him. The story follows his efforts to smooth his rough edges and impress his love.
Veteran actress and director Jayne Luke directs this comedy and two brothers share the lead role: Cody Swenson and his younger sibling Bobby.
"We kind of have the older cast and the younger cast," Swenson said.
Cody Hale and Justin Bruse share the role of Link Hanson. Larson Holyoak plays Hank Stover. Jeffrey Simpson and Cameron Asay play Lem Reed. Paul Hill plays the part of Jose Gonzales. Ben Wake plays Randall Wright and Holly Marie Anderson and Carly Johnston share the role of Pam Wright.
Brittni Bills and April Fossen share the role of Florence Rains, the lovely lass and tutor Coterel fancies.
"It's very funny," said Swenson. "This is the second time we've done it in Utah County. It went over really well before."
