Holiday calendar
Christmas in the Rotunda through Wednesday at the American Fork Library, 64 S. 100 East. Celebrate the season through the eyes of a child. Free.
Christmas Cruise on the Provo River through Saturday; meet at the CLAS Ropes Course, 3606 W. Center, Provo. Monday-Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 6:30-10 p.m. Enjoy holiday scenes along the shore, Christmas music and Santa in his canoe. Twenty-five-minute ride, leaving every half hour. Cost $5/$20 per family. Call 373-8897.
Festival of Lights, Spanish Fork's Canyon Park, through Monday. Admission is $5 per carload or $25 per large bus. To reach the Festival of Lights take southbound I-15 to Exit 261, or northbound to Exit 260. Travel southeast along U.S. 6 for five miles. Turn right at the Little Acorn Drive-In. Drive over the bridge. Entrance is on the right.
Gardens at Tahitian Noni, through Sunday. With 285,000 lights, the gardens at Tahitian Noni's world headquarters, 333 W. River Park Drive, sparkle throughout the Christmas season. The lights are on nightly, except Sundays, until 9 p.m. Free.
Provo's First Night, Saturday at the Provo Towne Centre. Celebrate the New Year and stay dry and warm inside the mall. Events throughout the mall will include dances, children's crafts, face painting, performers, firework displays, magic shows, jugglers, ball drop countdown, decorating New Year's Eve hats, food court and more. Event Buttons are $4/$2 for 16-under (5-under free), purchased in advance at the mall's customer service desk, $1 more if purchased the day of event.
New Year's Day Party at Thanksgiving Point, from 11 am. to 4 p.m. at the Museum of Ancient Life. Cost: $9.50/$7.50 Participate in a scavenger hunt through the exhibit and activities in the lobby. Call 766-5013.
Utah Symphony's Salute to Youth Concert will reply New Year's Day on classical 89.1 FM and 89.5 FM at 1 p.m. The concert was originally performed Oct. 3. The concert include interviews by host Mark Wait with some of the young soloists.
