In two impressive victories last week for North Summit, Garfield scored eight points in a win over Morgan and followed it up with 14 in a win over Duchesne.
The senior point guard's 17.7 scoring average fourth best in 2A is a big reason why North Summit (9-1) is currently the top-ranked team in 2A. Garfield, who led 2A last year with 2.3 3-pointers per game, has made 15 treys in 10 games this year.
Garfield was named a Deseret Morning News football all-stater this past season.
"She has all of the tools that make a great point guard," said Tabiona coach Doug Price. "She is a great ball handler, an amazing passer and a good shooter. Savana is an outstanding leader for our team, on and off the court."
She is averaging 15 points, seven assists and two steals per game in helping the Tigers remain undefeated and ranked No. 2 behind region rival Rich this season.
"Savana is a big part of our success this season," said Price of the multisport athlete. "I think she's one of the best in the state."
