Salt Lake-based Sorenson Communications said Friday it has opened eight new Sorenson Video Relay Service Interpreting Centers throughout the country.
The new locations are Boise; Columbia, Mo.; Fresno, Calif; Kansas City, Kan; Knoxville, Tenn.; Little Rock, Ark.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Omaha, Neb.
Sorenson VRS is a free service that enables deaf and hard-of-hearing people who use sign language to conduct video relay calls with hearing individuals through a certified interpreter via a videophone, high-speed Internet connection and a standard TV.
