Intermountain Contractor magazine recently announced its "Best of 2006" award-winning projects.
Thirty-three awards were presented for 32 projects in 22 categories.
The $62.5 million Point of the Mountain Aqueduct was named "Project of the Year." Constructed by W.W. Clyde of Springville, the 15-mile pipeline stretches from the Point of the Mountain in Draper to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Sandy via a series of public rights-of-way along existing and future streets and along a dry canal.
Other honored projects were: Best Public Project Over $5 Million: North Davis Jr. High/Clearfield Aquatic Center.
Public Project Over $5 Million Merit Award: John A. Moran Eye Center II.
Public Project Over $5 Million Merit Award: Ft. Herriman Middle School.
Best Public Project Under $5 Million: Asian Highlands Exhibit at Hogle Zoo.
Public Project Under $5 Million Merit Award: Elizabeth Stewart Treehouse Museum.
Best Private Project Over $5 Million: Miller MotorSports Park.
Private Project Over $5 Million Merit Award: Millrock Park West.
Best Private Project Under $5 Million: Blessed Sacrament Church.
Private Project Under $5 Million Merit Award: St. James Catholic Church.
Best Renovation Project Over $5 Million: Zions Bank Tower.
Best Renovation Project Under $5 Million: Ogden Justice Center.
Best Healthcare Project: Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Best Architectural Project: Manon Caine Russell & Kathryn Caine Wanless Performance Hall.
Best Mechanical/Electrical Project: Manon Caine Russell & Kathryn Caine Wanless Performance Hall.
Best Higher Education Project: Dolores Dore Eccles Health, Wellness & Athletic Center.
Higher Education Project Merit Award: Merill-Cazier Library.
Best Green Building Project: Salt Palace Expansion.
