SOCCER: Katie Larkin, Jessica Harmon and Andrea Willis were recognized with All-West Region honors, Soccer Buzz announced Tuesday.

Larkin was named to the first team, while Harmon was a second-team selection and Willis earned All-Freshman-Team honors.

Larkin was a first team All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2005 and 2006. During the 2006 campaign she led the Cougars with six goals and five assists for a total of 17 points. She also took 58 shots on the season and scored four game-winning goals for BYU.

Harmon, also a member of the 2006 All-MWC First Team, anchored the BYU defense that only allowed nine goals in 18 games, which included 11 shutouts. She took 10 shots during the season.

Willis was named the MWC Co-Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-MWC Second Team. Along with Harmon, she also helped secure the Cougar defense. She scored her first collegiate goal on Oct. 28 against UNLV.

Utah Valley State

WRESTLING: Down a weight class due to injury, Utah Valley State beat Portland State, 26-19 in the Wolverines' first non-tournament dual. The Wolverines, now 3-2 in duals this season, won six of the nine matches in which they participated. Among winners were Justin Morrill (141 pounds), Clayton Wol (149) and Justin Rawle (156). Next up for Utah Valley is the Reno Tournament of Champions Dec. 20.

Also, Marc Fenwick was named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials.

Fenwick pinned Portland State's Tony Contreras (3:39) helping the Wolverines defeat Portland State Saturday. Fenwick, who normally wrestles at 157, wrestled up two weights as he has all season.

CEU

MEN'S BASKETBALL: College of Eastern Utah's Tyler Kepkay was named Scenic West Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week Tuesday.

Kepkay, a 6-0 freshman from Vancouver, British Columbia, helped give the Golden Eagles (8-1, 2-0 SWAC) two victories over Colorado Northwestern CC in the first week of SWAC league play. In Friday night's game Kepkay scored 45 points and CEU needed them all, defeating CNCC 118-104. Kepkay for the week was 27-44 from the field, a stellar 61.4 percent. He also made 8 three pointers and had 10 assists.
