STYLE POINTS: Utah never trailed Monday, prompting Williams to toot the league-leading, 16-5 Jazz's horn a bit afterward.

"This shows that when we have a little heart and a little determination, we can put teams away," he said. "(Even) really good teams.

"Everyone in this locker room feels we're a proud team," Williams added. "We feel like we're one of the best teams in this league, but we've still got a lot to prove."

MISC.: One game after Jazz trainer Gary Briggs was called for a technical foul in Friday's loss at Minnesota, Jazz assistant coach Phil Johnson took his turn Monday. Johnson was called for a tech because his waved his hands in disgust at call made by veteran referee Jim Clark ... Rafael Araujo and Roger Powell Jr. again were inactive for the Jazz ... Swingman Jerry Stackhouse (strained groin) and forward Austin Croshere (strained hamstring) both sat out for the Mavs ... In the crowd: Utah native Shawn Bradley, whose last team before he retired was the Mavericks, and Mavs owner Mark Cuban.
