Brigham Young

VOLLEYBALL: Three Cougars were honored this week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for their outstanding play during the 2006 season as junior Chelsea Goodman was named to the AVCA West All-Region Team, while junior Erica Lott and sophomore Rachel Dyer received West All-Region honorable mention.

Utah State

GYMNASTICS: Utah State finished its second intrasquad meet of the week with a leading performance from Meagan Lewis on Thursday. The Aggies performed routines on three of four events, leaving out the vault. The Aggies will open their season on the road at Sacramento State on Jan. 7.

Weber State

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Weber State women's basketball team lost its third straight game Thursday falling 67-62 to UC Santa Barbara. WSU now drops to 4-4 on the season after a 4-1 start. WSU was led by sophomore Janie Rayback who finished with 15 points and led the 'Cats in scoring. The Wildcats return home for an instate battle with Utah Valley State (8-1) Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.

Utah Valley State

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah Valley State (7-1) will continue its in-state schedule as the T-Birds travel to Ogden to take on the Wildcats on Saturday at 2 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL: Utah Valley State Volleyball coach Sam Atoa has announced the signing of three players to letters of intent. Jaicee Kuresa (Millville, Utah), Kayli Broadbent (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Lanni O'Reilly (Redlands, Calif.) will join Wolverines next fall for the 2007 season.
