Defense attorney Dean Zabriskie questioned Julianna Myers about why she never called out for help at the rest stop. She said she was afraid.

There have been no plea-deal offers, but defense attorney Rhome Zabriskie said he is confident in his clients' case as well as the potential for a resolution.

"These are family members," he said. "I don't think anybody is interested in seeing it move forward (like this)."

However, the relationship between Julianna Myers and her parents has "always been off and on," she said after the hearing. "It's never been perfect. There (are) issues with controlling."

Julianna Myers' mother recently tried to visit her daughter at work, prompting Judge James Taylor to put a no-contact order in place.

One of Myers' sisters never got married "because of my mother," Myers said. She didn't elaborate but said "a lot of the same things happened."

During later police interviews with the parents, they each confessed to forcing their daughter to leave with them before the wedding, said Provo police detective Mark Crosby, who also testified Tuesday.

Julia Redd told Crosby she pulled her daughter's hair, and Lemuel Redd said he grabbed her wrists to get Julianna back in the van, according to Crosby's testimony.

Crosby also testified that the couple had made reservations at the hotel in Colorado days before they actually took their daughter.
