FARMINGTON — The City Council on Tuesday postponed a vote on approval of the preliminary master plan for the 97-acre Station Park development, saying it wanted more details about the project.

Station Park is planned to be built just west of I-15 near the Park Lane interchange. It will be centered around the Farmington commuter rail station and will more than double the amount of retail in Farmington.

Station Park will include a mix of housing, office space, restaurants, a theater and high-end shops.

Jean Paul Wardy, a principal with CenterCal Properties, which is developing Station Park, said Tuesday the city's decision to postpone approval was not unexpected.

"With a project like this, there are a lot of pieces," he said.

Wardy anticipates going back before the council for approval sometime this month.
