CHARLES ABOUO, Logan: This senior forward is off to a scintillating start.

Through four games, Abouo has led 3A's top-ranked Grizzlies to an impressive 4-0 record by averaging 25.5 points per game.

In three games last week at the Ernie's Deli Classic in Orem, Abouo scored 23 points in a first-round win over Roy, 21 points in a semifinal win over Hurricane and then 25 points in a championship game victory over Orem. What's even more impressive about his performance against Orem was that he was in foul trouble throughout the game and eventually fouled out.

DANIELLE PETERSON, Skyline: This junior has height and natural athletic ability, yet instead of relying on just that, she worked hard all summer to improve her basketball skills, as well as her mental game.

"Dani is owning her game this year," said Eagles coach Deb Bennett. "She's a powerful player, but she's more confident this season. I think she's developed more of an all-around game."

In the top-ranked team's first game of the season, Peterson scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked seven shots in a win over Bonneville.
