REXBURG, Idaho (AP) Rulebreakers at Brigham Young University-Idaho will no longer be sent to the dean of students office. The university has reorganized to create a new Honor Code Office that will handle all disciplinary infractions.
The new office was not created because there have been more honor code violations this year, school officials said. Officials wanted the dean of students office to be able to focus solely on improving students' school experience, without also having to handle disciplinary issues.
The office has had to deal with a string of code violations committed by BYU-I students this year, ranging from stink bombs released in area stores to more serious crimes such as check fraud and battery.
