OREM A Utah County city recently labeled as one of the safest is now also one of the most technologically advanced, while Ogden was ranked No. 1.
The Center for Digital Government recently released its 2006 Digital Cities Survey naming Orem as the third best digital city based on its population of 75,000 to 124,999.
The study examines how city governments use digital technology to aid residents and streamline operations, according to the Digital Government's Web site.
Ogden picked up the first-place tie in Orem's size category, with Virginia's Roanoke. Independence, Mo., won second place and Orem tied with Richardson, Texas.
Salt Lake earned a fourth-place award in their size category of cities from 125,000 to 249,999 residents, following behind Richmond, Va., Lincoln Neb., and a first-place tie between Madison, Wis., and Alexandria, Va.
The Morgan Quitno Press report, released Oct. 30, found Orem was the 11th safest of 370 U.S. cities.
