• The law firm of Stoel Rives announced that three new associates have joined the firm's Salt Lake office. Monica Call and Lauren Shurman have joined the firm's litigation group, and Michael Christopherson has joined the real estate practice group. Call's practice focuses on corporate governance and securities litigation, commercial contract disputes, business torts and general commercial litigation. She received her law degree from the Stanford University Law School. Shurman's practice focuses on general commercial litigation, including intellectual property and employment litigation. Shurman is a graduate of the Duke University School of Law. Christopherson's practice focuses on the acquisition, disposition, leasing, development and financing of industrial, office, retail, multi-family and other properties. He is a graduate of the Cornell University Law School.

• Girl Scouts of Utah announced the addition of four new staff members. Peggy Emery joined the Girl Scouts as receptionist. Erin McCann joined the organization as shop clerk and receptionist. Lori Ornelas has joined Girl Scouts as part-time shop clerk/receptionist at the organization's Northern Utah Service Center in Riverdale. Toni Quintana also will serve as part-time shop clerk and receptionist at the Riverdale office.

Laura Wall has accepted a position as director of development at the Swaner Nature Preserve in Park City. Wall has previous experience at the University of Utah, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.

Jack Woodward has joined NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate as an executive real estate agent. He specializes in the leasing and sales of office buildings and has been active in the Salt Lake real estate arena for the last 28 years.

Scott W. Parson was named president and chief executive officer of Staker & Parson Cos., effective Jan. 1, 2007. Parson has worked in the business founded by his grandfather, Jack B. Parson, for more than 20 years, most recently leading Jack B. Parson Cos., a ready-mixed concrete supplier.

• The Utah Association of Realtors announced its leadership team for 2007. Jim Bringhurst was named president, while Dave Mansell will serve as president-elect, Chris Sloan as vice president and Gordon Miller as treasurer. Bringhurst is owner-broker of the Bringhurst Group. He was president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors in 2004. Mansell, a broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, served as vice president of the UAR in 2006. Sloan is an associate broker with Group One Real Estate in Tooele and is a past president of the Tooele County Board of Realtors. Miller is a broker with Global Realty Marketing in Logan and is a past president of the Cache-Rich Association of Realtors.
