Schedule of today's intelligent-design discussions

"Intelligent Design: Toward an Intelligent Discussion," is the topic of the 11th annual Religion and the Humanities Conference today at Utah Valley State College and Westminster College.

The events at UVSC will be in the Sorensen Student Center, Room 206:

9-10 a.m. "Does Intelligent Design Explain Anything at All?" by Paul Nelson of the Discovery Institute.

10-11 a.m. "The Evolution-Creation Struggle: An American Story," by Michael Ruse, philosophy professor, Florida State University.

11 a.m.-12 p.m. Panel discussion with Nelson, Ruse and others to be determined.

1-2 p.m. "Evolution and Faith: What's at Stake," by John Haught, theology professor, Georgetown University.

2-3 p.m. "The Evidential and Scientific Status of Intelligent Design: Lessons from Physics and Cosmology," by Robin Collins, philosophy professor, Messiah College, and physics researcher and programmer, Austin Research Associates.

3-4 p.m. Panel discussion with Haught, Collins and others to be determined.

The conference will continue tonight at Westminster College in the Gore School of Business Auditorium:

7-9 p.m. "Evolution and Intelligent Design: Theoretical and Social Implications." Panel will include distinguished theology and philosophy experts from around the country, including: Nelson, Ruse, Haught, Collins and Michael Popich of Westminster College.
