For more than 20 years, Collin Raye has been an easily recognized voice in country music. He's hit the top of the charts with "Little Rock," "That's My Story," "I Think About You" and "Not That Different." There have been 15 No. 1 hits in all.
Raye also supports good causes. He appeared at the E Center in March in support of Mary Kaye Huntsman's The Power in You foundation. This time around, a portion of the proceeds from his Christmas concert will benefit the Children's Hunger Fund.
That concert, backed by a symphony orchestra and featuring members of his family, will be next Wednesday in the Dee Events Center in Ogden. Tickets are $21-$30, with discounts for groups of five or more (www.weberstatetickets.com or 801-626-6667).
Raye released a Christmas album in 1996, "Christmas: The Gift," with his take on "I'll Be Home For Christmas," "O Holy Night" and "Silent Night," among others, so there'll be Christmas music aplenty. The concert will also feature some of Raye's latest hits, including "Hurricane Jane" from his most recent "Twenty Years And Change" CD.
