PROVO The Utah County Health Department will hold a flu "Shoot-out" Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Utah County Health and Justice Building.
"Many people find it difficult to get a flu shot since they are not available during 'doctor's hours,"' said Lynn Flinders, UCHD family and community health director. "It is important enough to us to offer a special clinic when it might be easier for individuals and families to get their flu shot."
To encourage people to get a flu shot, the department has decreased the cost of the vaccine to $20 for those who pay at the time of service. Children on Medicaid, uninsured or who have no insurance can receive vaccinations at lower cost.
The UCHD accepts cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard, and will bill the following insurance plans: Altius, CHIP, Medicare, Medicaid, PEHP, SelectHealth and United Health Care.
The Utah County Health Department is located at 151 S. University Ave. in Provo.
