PROVO — Community Action Services (CAS) has received a $59,500 Daniels Fund grant to support its Family Development Program.

The grant will benefit more than 400 families in Utah, Wasatch and Summit Counties who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless. Day care, monthly bus passes, acquisition of identification and birth certificates, emergency-vehicle assistance and storage fees are some of the services to be offered next year to families.

The Daniels Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television. This year, the fund has granted a total of $250,000 to a variety of organizations in Utah.
